Wrong.
Money is not evil. It is neither ‘the source of evil’. If you’re looking to the scripture, the correct quote is “the love of money is the root of evil”.
Unfortunately this is one of the often misquoted phrases relating to money. Money is not there to be deified… money simply CAN’T be deified or idolized. Money exists as a representation of value. The seller of say a mobile phone values his product at say £50 ($100). The buyer agrees upon this value thus an exchange of money and goods takes place.
Money replaced humankind’s ancient systems of bartering.
You can rationalize that money is in fact a form of energy, much like water or heat. Water, for instance, can sustain life. It can improve the quality of life and it can also take life… similarly with heat and electricity too.
Neither water nor heat nor electricity is evil or good. Nor is the love of any of these forms of energy the root of evil. They simply exist. They are. We can use them to enhance our experience on earth as well as those around us or we can misuse them creating harm and possibly even death.
Take the same view on money. This form of energy or value exchange can be a positive force to enhance the quality of your life and others’. You should not be striving to get rich simply for the money. Money is not a means to an end. Money is a means with which you improve your life situation.

You’re not working at becoming a millionaire simply to be a millionaire. You’re working at becoming a millionaire because of the kind of person you will undoubtedly become along the way. There is a process you will be going through and this will mould you. You’re looking to be the kind of individual who will enrich the lives of those around you. You can not simply becoming a millionaire through being a self-serving individual.
You will need to expand beyond serving yourself. It is the service of others that will truly add to your spiritual and financial wealth.
Money is not evil. Rich people are not evil. You are certainly not evil. Yes, there are mean rich people. There are also truly great, benevolent rich people too. Just at there are mean poor people and truly great, benevolent poor people too. It is not the having of money that makes the person mean or good. Money does not come into the picture at all.
The individual is either mean or great as a result of their personality. They’d be mean or great with and without money. Money does not make the individual who he or she is. Work on yourself whilst focusing on delivering immense value to others. This is so important – be of value to others!
Remember too that it’s alright to be rich!
We live in an abundant universe… you are part of this abundance; choose to use the abundance to uplift your life and the lives of others.
